Formulated thoughtfully
We choose ingredients with purpose. All fragrances are paraben and phthalate-free, sustainably sourced where possible, and refined through multiple lab iterations to ensure stability, safety, and balance.
Each composition is crafted with world-class perfumers, ensuring every note has a reason to exist.
Ingredients
We do not consider ourselves a ‘clean’ fragrance brand; the definition of clean is subjective, and we have seen it come with much fear-mongering around ingredients that are not regulated or tested thoroughly. Alcohol isn’t always ‘bad’. Nature isn’t always ‘good’.
Even water can be toxic. The truth is much more nuanced; ingredients need to be chosen at the right %, in the right combination, and with the right research.
So, we prefer to go down the route of transparency - sharing the why behind the ingredients we include or exclude, and the science behind it. Our customers are then free to decide what is important to them.
All of our products are formulated to be vegan, sulphate-free, paraben-free and phthalate-free, keeping in mind latest scientific studies on the use of these ingredients in fragrance and skincare.
To ensure we do not compromise on quality, we have partnered with a world-renowned perfumer house to source LMR Naturals, bringing together the fiinest raw ingredients and cutting-edge technology. However, naturals aren’t everything…
Many brands claim that natural is better, but sometimes synthetics are a more effective and safe solution for developing animal-free products for sensitive skin types. For this reason, we advocate for the use of select lab-based ingredients to reproduce some of your favourite notes.
Because of the proprietary nature of fragrance formulations, even the world’s best known brands keep their ingredient lists on lockdown. We are not permitted to share the full formulation as this puts us at risk of dupes, but we’ll always strive to be as transparent as possible about what we do and don’t include. The Science Of Scent
Longevity
We don’t report on how long our scents last. This varies based on skin chemistry, weather and humidity, and making this claim would require extensive research and testing across individuals, routines and contexts (though we hope to do so in the future!)
Instead, we’ll tell you how we’ve formulated our fragrance to withstand the Indian climate.
All of our fragrances are formulated with 15-20% oil concentration. We increase % on fragrances where there are more volatile molecules (this means molecules that are smaller and more likely to evaporate sooner.)
We prioritise molecules that are better trapped by skin oils, and those with stronger London dispersion forces. These are attractions between fragrance molecules that allow you to smell them, as they cause the molecules to stick to each other, and to the scent receptors in your nose.
To help you choose what might work for you, we’ve included a fragrance strength metric on each product page. This is not scientifiically tested, and is not an effiicacy claim - it’s simply based on feedback from our community.
Neuroscience
We’ve worked closely with IFF to engineer our fragrances through a revolutionary science-based approach to holistic wellness, BrainEmotions™, which proves the relationship between ingredients and emotional and cognitive mood-enhancement.
IFF studied eight brain networks associated with emotional (Energy, Happiness, Seduction and Relaxation) and cognitive (Mindfulness, Learning, Self-esteem and Alertness) dimensions.
The result: Neuro-effects mapped for key ingredients used in Daily Compounds fragrances.
Testing
Testing requirements in India are limited, so we go the extra mile by following EU regulations to stability test our products.
Accelerated stability testing predicts shelf life and ensures quality over time by exposing fragrances to elevated stress factors, such as high temperatures and humidity, in a stability chamber. During these tests, color, odor, overall quality, and physical stability are monitored under conditions mimicking long-term storage.
All products are IFRA and FDA certified, complying with safety guidelines set by global bodies for the safe use of fragrance ingredients in consumer products.
We can also provide a Certifiicate of Analysis (COA), which verifies the quality and composition of a specifiic batch, and a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which details the potential hazards and safe handling procedures for a substance.
