Original Fragrances Built From The Molecule Up

Daily Compounds fragrances are phthalate free and formulated without suspect ingredients that make up a surprising portion of conventional perfumery. We build originals, never dupes, and every composition is designed around chemistry, neuroscience and extensive testing.

What "Clean Perfume" Actually Means

A clean perfume, to us, is not something that can be defined until there is an agnostic, global body regulating this. You'll find many brands claiming to be clean, all with varying definitions of this.

What's important to us is this: no phthalates (particularly DEP, which is widely used as a fixative in conventional scents), no nitromusks, parabens and sulphates - and no animal-derived ingredients.

Phthalates have been reported to be endocrine disruptors. Removing them forces a perfumer to solve longevity and diffusion the harder and more expensive way, through molecular weight balance and natural fixatives, which is partly why most mass-market perfumery has not bothered.

While we cannot disclose the full formulation (we're pretending our amazing perfumers from dupes of their creations being put on the market), we are clear about our values, we are IFRA certified, FDA approved, and you can find all allergens on the product pages.

How We Organize The Collection

Conventional perfumery sorts fragrances into olfactory category (citrus, woody, floral, oriental). Useful if you already speak the language. Most people do not, and category alone rarely answers the actual question: when do I wear this?

We find it more practical to think about a fragrance by what it does for the wearer. Using a new science-based approach to holistic wellness, our collection is designed for specific impact: that could be mindfulness, grounding, relaxation, energy or even improved short term memory.

At a minimum, our fragrances smell unique and layered. Compositions leaning on molecules like linalool, cedrol, and limonene tend to produce clean, slightly alert profiles. Ingredients such as vetiver or iris work closer to a grounding signal, which is what you actually want before a quiet evening in.

Indian climate adds another layer. Heat and humidity change how a perfume projects on skin. Lighter aromatic weights actually read well in a Mumbai summer or Bengaluru monsoon. Our daily wear concentrations are tuned for this, not retrofitted from an imported formula.

A Note On Concentration And Longevity

Concentration (EDT, EDP, parfum) refers to the percentage of fragrance oil dissolved in the alcohol base. Higher concentration is not automatically better. It means more intensity and more sillage, which is not always what you want in an enclosed cab or a shared office.

For daily wear in an Indian metro, an EDP at roughly 15-20% concentration usually hits the right balance. Lasts through the day without overwhelming the person next to you on a 7pm Metro ride. If a perfume of this % disappears on you in two hours, that is generally skin chemistry, not a bad formulation.

Frequently Asked

Are your perfumes original or dupes? Original. Every formulation was composed from the molecule up. We do not sell clones of Sauvage, Baccarat Rouge, or any other designer or niche fragrance.

Is this a clean perfume brand? What do you leave out? Clean is subjective. If a brand is claiming to be 'clean', please interrogate it heavily. For us, every fragrance is phthalate, paraben, nitromusk, sulphate and animal-derived ingredient free. We do use alcohol - it helps with stability and preservation, and we do use synthetics - they're a great way to produce beautiful scents that aren't as allergenic and volatile as some naturals.

What does "functional fragrance" mean? A perfume designed around a specific outcome for the wearer (focus, calm, energy) as much as an olfactory aesthetic. Certain molecules have documented effects on alertness and mood. We build around those and use neuroscience to prove it.
